About this service

Many people find talking to someone who shares their culture and language helps them feel more in control over time. That’s why counselling services is also available at Asian Family Services. Whether it’s a few more conversations beyond calling our Helpline or a longer journey, we are here to support you, free of judgment, whenever you're ready.

Support can start with group sessions which are relaxed and low-pressure. We explore gambling harm and general wellbeing topics through creative settings like horticulture activities or reading. You may also prefer one-on-one counselling for more personal conversations or peer support from someone who has walked a similar path.

English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Japanese, Hindi, Vietnamese, and Thai.

Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm (except for public holidays)

Who can access the service

Asian people living in Aotearoa New Zealand who are affected by gambling harm e.g. gamblers, family members or those with concerns about someone
else’s gambling.

Please note if your concerns aren’t related to gambling harm, we can only provide a
limited number of sessions
